My name is Yasmin binti Zainal Abidin. Currently I am a student in Universiti Selangor
(UNISEL) which is one of the private institutions in Selangor.I am now in the first semester doing Foundation in Management. At this very moment, I am writing an essay about ‘MY LIFE’. It is an assignment for the Computer Applications subject given by my lecturer, Mr. Izwan Suhadak.
My life started when I was born on 22nd October 1993 at about 6pm.I was born in Subang Jaya Medical Centre. I was given a name, Yasmin which means Jasmine; a flower. It is because, my mother; Wan Noraidah binti Wan Tahar loves Jasmine so much. She feels that the flower can make her feel calm and peaceful. Besides, most of Jasmine is white in colour, which is my mother’s favourite colour. During the nine months period in my mother’s womb, I was hoping and waiting for the special day; the day I was born to see the beauty of the world. My mother told me, the moment when she gave birth to me, I was crying out loud until I was in my mother cuddle.
After that, I was given to my father; Zainal Abidin bin Sabran, to wisper ‘iqamah’ to my ears. The moment I listened to the nice and meaningful words, I knew that the difference between me and another babies is my religion. I am a Muslim and I am so proud to be a Muslim and InsyaAllah I hope to truly follow the Al-Quran and Hadis.
I have a happy family and feel very lucky because I have a mother, father, and brother and sister who are so beautiful and handsome. They are very kind to me and provide me with the happiness. My sister’s name is Shafiqa (she is also in UNISEL) and my brother’s name is Muhammad Hariz. My father works as a Senior Vice President in one of famous Government Linked Companies (GLC), which is Celcom Axiata. He has been working in Celcom since before I was born. My mother was a IT consultant in one computer company. Now, she is a full-time housewife. I am the youngest in my family.
Talking about hobbies, all of us have different interests. I love music very much. I feel that music is my soul and I cannot live with out it. I also like to play sports, but not my sister. There are many things that I dislike; but the ones I dislike are noises and crowds. It is because noises disturb me greatly. This is why I hate to live in a city. While crowds make movement difficult especially when I was in shopping mall.
Back to my story, as time passes by, I start to learn how everything around me works. My mother always spent time with me to teach me how to walk, how to read and other else. My mother told me that when I was a little kid, I cried a lot. Sometimes she felt very tired and did not know what to do to make me silent. Until one day, she realized that she needs a baby sitter to help her. The baby sitter’s name is Sarah. She took a good care of me for so many years until I was five. It is because, when I was five, my mother sent me to a kindergarten; Tadika First Step located in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn,Cheras. During the two years I was there, there were so many bittersweet moments that happened in my life such as, I had so many friends around me that always made me feel happy when playing together. Besides that, during my kindergarten years I joined traditional dance for a convocation day.
During that day, I got an award for my excellent result in examination. I felt so proud with my effort and myself for being a good daughter to my parents. After two years I was in the kindergarten, finally I continued my life as a student at a primary school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Hussein Onn in Cheras. Two months before I entered the school, I was excited and my new year resolution was to study hard and to be smart and to come out as a top student in the school. My mother always gave me some advice,
“Meen, don’t forget to study hard”
“Be a nice girl and finish all the home works”
With the trust on me and to make sure that I would study hard, she bought me so many things that I needed when I was in the primary school.

fter a week I was in the school, I met so many new friends. I felt very happy because I had good friends. They were so friendly, nice, intelligent and did not give bad influence to me. There were so many subject that I studied during the primary school such as Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, and Islamic Studies, but the only one subject that I love so much is Mathematics subject. My mother told me, it is because of the genetic. When she was pregnant tome, she always did exercises on mathematics.
My weekdays were very much routine, I got up around six o’clock every morning depending on the weather. I would took a cool or warm shower and dress up for school. My parents always insisted that I must take breakfast before leaving off to school. I find that it was quite a chore to eat the morning meal. Not that mother’s cooking was unpalatable, in fact, it’s quite the opposite. It is just that I was never in the mood for breakfast. However as always I managed to swallow down the food and milk obediently before walking the 15minutes to school. After school, I would play with my schoolmate for about an hour. Usually, we played netball and volleyball. I returned home after play with them. At night, I tried to finish my homework and that is my routine for everyday, which make me felt boring.
When I was in Standard One until Standard Three, I was not a top student. There was nothing of me to be proud. It is because I was busy in my extra curricular activities and always represented my school in so many things such as choir, choral speaking and traditional dance, until I lost focus on my studies. My mother always scolded me because I always did not finish my homework and I got bad result in final exam when I was in Standard Three.

ince then, I totally changed. I started to work hard to be a smart student who always finished my homework that the teachers gave. Even I concentrated in my studies, I still was active in a co-curriculum such as represented school in marching, playing netball and other sports. It is because my teacher said that we as a student have to be balance either in co-curriculum or curriculum. So, I made a timetable to guide me.
When I was in standard five and six. I was a prefect. It is because I got good results for my final exam in Standard Four. Becoming a prefect is as hard as I heard. It is just I had to be a role model to my friends so that they cannot give any reason why they were do something wrong.A few months before I took Ujian Penilaian Rendah Malaysia(UPSR). I was so busy because there were a lot of extra classes of the four subjects. I have to struggle to achieve what I want for the end of the year, which is to get a straight A’s for my UPSR.
I felt so happy when I get a slip result because Allah helped me to get the excellent result. After a week of waiting, finally I got the offer letter to continue my secondary school at Pahang. The name of the school is Sekolah Menengah Sains Tengku Abdullah(SEMESTA). It is a boarding school, which is located in Raub. Firstly I was not feeling happy at all to get in the school because the place is like in the village and far from my house. Beside that, the facilities were not good as the name of the school. In my orientation weeks, I felt very tired and sleepy. It is because of I had not enough sleep. My senior always ragging us by washed their clothes, ironed their scarf, do their homework and many more. During that week, I really want to get off from this school. Because of my parents really want me to study in that school, I have to stay there and continue my life within 5 years.
It was very bad because I hate the rules of the school. There were so many things that I cannot do. Because of the rules, attitude marks became negative and I always been called by the principle to meet him in his office.
After a few years being a SEMESTA student, I had three warning letters. That was quite bad for me as a student because, the teachers had marked me as a bad student. It was hard for me to represent the school in anything. In school, I have so many friends namely Alli, Fatin, Bella and many more. They were very happening and sporting. We spent our time together such as walking to school, having lunches and dinners and doing our revisions.
I spent time together with my friends.
On the 25th April 2010, Hari Kecemerlangn Sekolah Berasrama Penuh(HKSBP) Zon Timur was held at Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Temerloh. This event was held to organise a tournament among schools in basketball
This is some players of our basketball team.
When I was 15, I had a Penilaian Menengah Rendah(PMR). A few months before the PMR, I controled myself from being a person who love to waste time, did some activities that do not give any benefits, limited watching of television and make a study group for the preparation before I enter the examination hall during the PMR. Alhamdulillah, I got 7A and 1C. The grade C is because of the History subject that was killing me. When I was in upperform, there were two options for us as a students to take a subject that we want which is Biology subject or Engineering Drawing subject, I took an Engineering Drawing subject because it is more interesting since I love to draw. For the two years, I went to so many tuition center to catch up what I had to study before I took the examination which is Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia(SPM). This is the last subject and paper that I took for my SPM.
Finally, I got 3A 3B 3C for my SPM.
After a few months I got my SPM result, I applied for foundation course in UNISEL. About two weeks after that, I received an offer letter from UNISEL. I felt very excited and was looking forward to start my new campus life in UNISEL.
They are my buddies.
They are my new bestfriends. Their name are Syuhada, Nurul Afiqah and Nur Syahirah.
